WOOF AND MEOW - THEY'RE HERE!
Habbo Pets have arrived! The day of reckoning is finally here after a long, long wait, and what do you think?
They're cute, furry, amazing. Loads of breeds, loads of colours - the choice is endless! I've really grown attached to my two - Monki (doggy) and Cranky (kitty) in just a few hours. I just can't leave them be - they're too adorable!
The launch is not without bugs - so please bear with us if you encounter any. We're aware of most things like not being able to view the Pets 'Help and Safety' page from the Catalogue. We're working on that to fix it asap as that page give you all the must-read info on Habbo Pets - everything and anything you need to know. I'll let you know when it's back up. In the meantimem, there's a link to it on the front page and I've racked my brains to put together my terrific, top tips for you Habbo pet-lovers and owners out there!
Top ten tips for Habbo Pet owners:
1.) You can only put it down in one of your own rooms so if you haven't got a room already, you'll need to make one with the Room-O-Matic. It doesn't cost anything to open a room so go for it!
2.) You cannot trade your Habbo Pet
3.) The basket is the pet's home. If you want to pick your pet up, you must click 'pick up' on the basket and the pet will go too.
4.) Double clicking on your pet will show you how it's feeling. Hungry or thirsty, sad or happy..
5.) One day in real time is one year in the life of your pet. It's age is shown in the well-being box (same place that you can se how it's feeling). Double-click to see it.
6.) If you want to feed it or let it play with it's toys, make sure the food/ball/water is near the pet. Pets will eat anything! But technically speaking the dogs love their Doggy Bones and Marzipan Men while the cats go for the Sardines and Chocolate Mice above all else. Oh, and (unlike me!) both love Cabbage (yes, it's true!). Even Habbo Pets need their greens!
7.) If a pet is not taken care of, it'll get sad and boring. The animal will stay in its basket a lot more, stop moving around and being playful as it will be too weak to. Make sure this doesn't happen to your pet by regularly checking how your pet feels by examining its behaviour, body language (including the noises it makes) and also its facial expressions.
8.) The Pet is happiest when the owner there. For example, when you come into the room it will come up to greet you wagging it's tail. It'll also behave better for you.
9.) Each pet needs a nap every now and then. When it gets sleepy, it'll find its way to the basket, lie down and fall asleep. Younger pets take a nap about every half an hour.
10.) Pets respond to simple voice commands though younger pets may take a little while to learn these commands. A pet may also ignore them if they are grumpy. You need to shout the command along with your Pet's name (remember type the name exactly as you see it - with capital letters if need be).
Commands that anyone can use are:
Sit: Makes the pet sit down
Lay down: Gets the pet lto lie down
Jump: Makes the pet jump up
Speak: Gets the pet to bark/meow etc
Good: Boosts pet's ego and makes them happy
These commands are only for the pet's owner:
Follow: Gets your pet to follow you
Come here: Makes your pet come to you
Beg: The pet will beg for a reward from you
Go away: Your pet will move away from you
Bad: Tells your pet off There's are other things that pets do - but I'll leave you to find out those for yourself!

LOVE ACTUALLY... GOING :(
Valentine's day is approaching and while we're going to enjoy getting loved up (and learning to love our pets) - I have some revealing news about something that's happening after Valentine's day.
It's kind of a warning for you too because if you love what's in the Love section of the Catalogue - you'd better stock up on it now as it's coming out! Yep, the week after Valentine's day will see the removal of that section from the Catalogue so that like Chrimbo and Easter - the furni can be seasonal. However, it's not all bad news. If you take a peek in other sections of the Catalogue, you'll see that some of the Love furni appears in them, so you will still be able to get those bits at will. But for now, the Love section will be saying: 'It's been love-ly knowing ya, see ya next year!'
ROOMFAIRY?!
Habbo Happenings has had a very groovy new idea where all you need to do is sit back and read! Well not exactly... Our Habbo Happenings spy will be out about looking for your habbo-tastic rooms! The more spangly and fantastic the better! You don't need to email in and you don't need to tell anyone because the Roomfairy knows where all the cool rooms are! Roomfairy is Safetyfairy's nephew, a cheeky chappy who likes to hang out at only the coolest places! He knows what he likes and he doesn't hesitate to tell the whole Habbo world!
All you need to do is paint the walls, carpet the floor, put furni in, trade for your rares (if needed) and name the room! Then sit back, grab a cola and wait and see what happens! Could your room be visited by the Roomfairy? Will you be mentioned in Habbo Happenings? Keep it here to see!
This week the most splendiferous room in the hotel a very special room! It is so bright and colorful! I simply loved this room and didn't want to leave! The room is owned by tattoo-dude and it's called: [T:D] Rare Trading Garden - go and take a look!
Remember your room doesn't need to be a famous room! It doesn't need to be on the popular list! It doesn't even need to have rares in it! So long as it's a cool room! It could get on here! So get kerching happy and make a room the best possible! (iIf you don't know how to get stuff, see your Habbo purse).

Do you ever feel sorry when you see poor Habbos in the hotel? Do you ever give them something 'coz their room is all bare? Or organise donations for lots of poor Habbos? If so, this could be for you!

Pets are all the rage now but in time the excitement Habbos currently have about them will wear off. If you own a pet, don't forget about it over time or feel that it was a waste of Credits. It's your pet for life.
Don't forget to feed it or give it water and certainly don't put it in your hand all the time. Make sure you care for and love your pet always, because a pet is for a Habbo life, not just for Crimbo. :)

Pets are the purrfect ingredient to a good room!
So you are making a new room? Mafia? Boring! Casino? Seen it all before! Zoo? There's a new one!
With the new pets, you can have the room everyone will be jealous of! With the gorgeous cats purring about, or who could resist a dog to woof away your fears? No room is complete without a pile of bones or sardines!
This year, be the owner of the room people will look at, jaws drop and drool at, and the place that people will say I wish I was room owner!
Wherever you are this year.. have a pet. After all - dog is a man's best friend (so maybe a cat could be a womans best friend!) :)
